Maximum unknown sample volumes for MxP Quant 1000 kit?
If you wish to add more sample volume on a filter of the test plate, please note that extra drying steps are required to ensure proper results. Please see the table below.
Kit part
| Sample volume
|
Standard
| Maximum
|
NPH | 20 µL | 30 µL |
PITC | 10 µL | dry after each 20 µL |
Lipid | 10 µL | dry after each 20 µL |
Information for PITC and Lipid parts
After adding a sample volume of 20 µL to a filter of the test plate, include an additional drying step of 30 min. In theory, there is no maximum sample volume. However, for sample volumes larger than 30 µL, matrix effects may become predominant.

Can I use speed vac for drying the test plate?
Officially biocrates does not recommend using a speed vac instead of a nitrogen drying system. The use of a speed vac for kit preparation procedures was never tested by biocrates. However and for sure, a speed vac can be used. If a speed vac is used, ...
Why do extracts appear cloudy?
For AbsoluteIDQ® p180, p400 HR and MxP® Quant 500 kits: When adding water to the methanolic sample extracts to make the LC plate, cloudiness can occur due to residues of pyridine and phenyl isothiocyanate from the derivatization solution. If that ...
Does the whole kit plate need to be prepared at once?
A kit must be prepared all at once, as it is sealed under nitrogen to prevent degradation. Kits are for single use only.
